Galerie Malaquais

Since 2004, the Galerie Malaquais has been showing independant figurative sculpture. This school, which spans several generations, started with Rodin, Bourdelle, and Mailol, and is marked by its commitment to the humanistic and the poetic. Through thematic exhibitions and in-depth publications, the Galerie Malaquais displays the great range of these artists, including their sculptures, drawings, paintings, and photographs.

The Galerie Malaquais today receives visitors by appointment in an elegant apartment in the Nouvelle Athènes section of Paris’ 9th arrondissement.

Known for its work discovering or rediscovering both the well-known and the rarest sculptures from the first half of the 20th century, the gallery is in constant conversation with art historians, specialists, collectors, and curators. Numerous museums regularly consult the gallery for the acquisition and the loan of works as well as for the co-organization of exhibitions; these museums include the Rodin Museum, the Musée d’Orsay, and the Bourdelle Museum (Paris), the Art Institute (Chicago, IL), le Nationalmuseum (Stockholm), the Pushkin Museum (Moscow), the Villa Medici (Rome), the Beelden ann Zee Museum (The Hague), the Eskenazi Museum (Bloomington, IN), the Despiau-Wlérick Museum (Mont-de-Marsan), and La Piscine, the André Diligent Museum of Art and Industry (Roubaix).

The Galerie Malaquais also hosts the Comité Camille Claudel and the Comité Charles Despiau.
